🛡️ Coliseum Reinsurance Company is a Delaware-incorporated reinsurance company (NAIC 36552) originally formed in September 1978 as Gamma Reinsurance Company and subsequently renamed several times — to AXA Reinsurance Company in 1989 and AXA Corporate Solutions Reinsurance Company in 2000 — before adopting its current name.[1] The company ceased underwriting new and renewal business in the fourth quarter of 2002 and has since administered an orderly run-off strategy, with operations managed through an affiliated services agreement. It is wholly owned by AXA U.S. Holdings, Inc., with AXA SA (France) identified as the ultimate parent within the holding company system.[1] The 2022 Delaware examination report notes assumed premiums of approximately negative $114,000 and discloses gross paid-in and contributed surplus of $844,928,978 as of 31 December 2022. The entity holds licences or authorizations across all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.[2]
