DefinitionFull-year 2024 reporting period.

🗓️ Full year 2024 is the annual reporting period from January 1 to December 31, 2024, under the calendar-year convention most listed companies follow. FY24 and FY2024 are the usual shorthand. Every form designates the same twelve months as presented in accounts, regulatory returns, and results communications.

📚 Companies reported on the period in early 2025. Earnings releases came first, then annual reports and statutory filings; insurers added their solvency publications to the sequence. For the insurance industry the period carried an accounting milestone: it was the second full year under IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 for adopting groups, and the first whose prior-year comparatives sat on the same basis. Reporting on 2023 had mixed restated and transition-shaped figures. From 2025 onward the period recurs constantly as the base year in comparatives, earnings bridges, and multi-year trend tables.

🧭 Once closed and audited, an annual period hardens into a reference point. Companies measure subsequent growth from it, strategic plans mark progress against it, and any restatement touching it gets flagged, precisely because everyone assumes settled figures stay fixed. Any reliable comparison starts by establishing whether a document's numbers belong to this period, to one of its interim components, or to an adjacent year.
