Param 2 (the tooltip) is a CACHED copy of the definition — the

authoritative text lives in the page's

block, and the deriver

(tools/doc_archive/output/original_derive.py) reconstructs <fn ref="4"/> from

param 1 alone. Corrections to a note belong in the

({{{1}}})

line; a

republish/repair regenerates the tooltips. Without param 2 (a document endnote defined on another page) only the superscript renders.
