DefinitionFull-year 2024 reporting period.

🗓️ Full year 2024 is the annual reporting period from January 1 to December 31, 2024, under the calendar-year convention most listed companies follow. FY24 and FY2024 are the usual shorthand, and all forms designate the same twelve months as presented in accounts, regulatory returns, and results communications.

📚 Companies reported on the period in early 2025, beginning with earnings releases and followed by annual reports and statutory filings, with insurers adding their solvency publications to the sequence. For the insurance industry the period carried a particular accounting milestone: it was the second full year under IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 for adopting groups, and the first whose prior-year comparatives sat on the same basis, after 2023 reporting had mixed restated and transition-shaped figures. From 2025 onward the period recurs constantly as the base year in comparatives, earnings bridges, and multi-year trend tables.

🧭 Once closed and audited, an annual period hardens into a reference point: subsequent growth is measured from it, strategic plans mark progress against it, and any restatement touching it gets flagged precisely because settled figures are assumed fixed. Establishing whether a document's numbers belong to this period, to one of its interim components, or to an adjacent year is the first step of any reliable comparison.
